Project Description

The Victoria & Albert Museum is the largest museum of art and design in the world.
Castle-davis were appointed to manage the demolition and construction of a new entrance enclosure containing telescopic sliding doors within a bespoke bronzed steel frame decorated with toughened glazed tubes. The fit out included a new bespoke desk and refurbishment of toilets in the Cromwell Road Grand Entrance to the museum.
Working in a live museum with a restrictive programme of exhibition and private events, central government funding timelines and conflicting supply chain and listed building consent timelines, the constriction works was undertaken over a storage Crypt containing immoveable artefacts and adjacent open galleries.
